With New Zealand television news and current affairs having descended to the banal level of 7 Sharp and where a 'progressive outlook' doesn't stray from the right wing politics of the Labour Party and the Green's, you have to look elsewhere for something that doesn't insult the intelligence.
So it is good news that Breaking The Set with Abby Martin is back this week for its second season on RT (Sky 92).
You won't necessarily agree with everything, but it is a show that unashamedly is on the side of progressive causes. And where on television these days, for example, could you watch a debate between a Marxist, anarchist and a libertarian? Certainly not with Ali Mau and her mates.
Breaking The Set screens Tuesday through Saturday.
