IN 1984 the British band Frankie Goes To Hollywood released the anti-war song 'Two Tribes'. The song was released at the height of the Cold War and fears of a nuclear exchange between the United States and the Soviet Union were prevalent.

The video depicts an wrestling match between then-President Ronald Reagan and then-Soviet leader Konstantin Chernenko in front of an assembly of representatives from the world's nations. The match eventually degenerates into global destruction.

This full version of the video includes  an edited monologue by Richard Nixon taken from an ad from his 1960 US Presidential campaign. The video was banned by MTV who would only broadcast the shorter - and tamer - version.

In these days when the talk is of a new Cold War, the video is again worth a spin....
