IN THE  2013 documentary Dirty Wars: The World Is A Battlefield,  award-winning journalist Jeremy Scahill travels to Afghanistan, Somalia, Yemen and elsewhere to investigate America's covert war against its perceived  'enemies'.

Along the way he reveals, as one reviewer describes it, the
'heart of darkness behind President Obama’s good-guy facade.'

In Afghanistan, he investigates the United States military and government cover-up of the killing of five civilians, including two pregnant women, by the American military. He also investigates the assassination, approved by Obama,  of an American citizen called Anwar al-Awlaki.

The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2013. It is based on Scahill's book of the same name.
