Shadows of Liberty, directed and produced by Jean-Philippe Tremblay, examines the impact of corporate media and concentration of media ownership on journalism and the news. The film’s title is borrowed from a Thomas Paine quote: 'When men yield up the privilege of thinking, the last shadow of liberty quits the horizon.'

It reveals the extraordinary money and power behind the American corporate media. Amy Goodman of Democracy Now suggests '...that what will save us is when we really know what is going on, not media filtered through the lens or the microphone of a corporation.'

The 2012 British documentary features interviews with several journalists, activists and academics including Amy Goodman, Julian Assange, Dan Rather, Robert W. McChesney, Daniel Ellsberg and Chris Hedges.
