But this seven part series  has barely been off the top of the charts since it was released three weeks ago. The Queen's Gambit  is  likely to be Netflix's most successful show this year. 

Both an enthralling thriller and emotionally powerful coming-of-age drama, its bound together by the stellar performance from Anya Taylor-Joy as chess prodigy Beth Harmon.

While the drama starkly charts her fall, it is also a tale of redemption.
