DIDO'S LAMENT isn't a new song from English singer Dido but Annie Lennox, formerly of the Eurythmics, doing her own rendition of an aria that Henry Purcell wrote in 1689. In fact she's done two versions, a solo version and a later version accompanied by the London City Voices.
The new choral version aims to increase awareness of climate change and also raise funds for Greenpeace.
'I am deeply concerned by the global climate crisis which I feel is the most urgent challenge that we all have to face, particularly in regard to sustainability for future generations,' she says in the description to the video. 'I very much hope to make a contribution by drawing attention towards this vital issue.'
