'My Sweet Lord' was the biggest selling single in the UK in 1971.

TO MARK  the 50th anniversary of George Harrison’s All Things Must Pass, a bunch of people got together to film a music video for 'My Sweet Lord'. There are appearances by, among others, Ringo Starr, Jeff Lynne, Joe Walsh, Dhani Harrison, Weird Al Yankovic and Mark Hamill. Taika Waititi is in there somewhere as well.

Despite the song's obvious religious theme, Harrison himself grew up with little interest in religion. He once remarked: “If there's a God we must see him. If there's a soul we must perceive it. Otherwise, it's better not to believe. It's better to be an outspoken atheist than a hypocrite.”

But in 1968,when he and the Beatles went to India, Harrison became interested in Eastern philosophy and transcendental meditation. Eastern philosophy appealed to Harrison: “You just believe what we tell you. And don't ask questions. Whereas the Swami's saying, If there's a God we must see him. I thought, Right on, that's the one for me! If there's a God, I want to see him."
