ACCORDING TO war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu, Iran is the greatest terrorist threat in the world today. That's why it must be prevented from developing its own nuclear weapons. But it's not Iran that is committing genocide in Gaza. It's not Iran that has attacked Lebanon. It's not Iran that has attacked Yemen. And it's not Iran that armed pagers, mobile phones and laptops in Lebanon which, says Amnesty International, injured nearly 3,000 people and killed at least forty. This has all been the work of Israel, the true terrorist in the Middle East. And it does have nuclear weapons.
This sort of rogue behaviour by any other country would be condemned by the West. But while western countries have been loud in their condemnation of Russia's military action in Ukraine, Israel continues to act with impunity. The atrocities it has committed in Gaza is ample evidence of this.
It is a bad joke that French President Emmanuel Macron should claim that Iran is responsible for 'destabilising' the Middle East.
The United States has insisted that Israel took 'unilateral action' against Iran and says it has had no involvement. This is a lie, because Israel knows that it will continue to have the protection of the United States, regardless of what it does. The Zionist outpost remains pivotal to protecting western interests in the Middle East.
We might have expected a country like New Zealand, with an independent foreign policy, to roundly condemn Israel's attack on Iran. But, under the National-led coalition government, New Zealand has relegated its own independence to tagging along behind the United States.
The 'best' Foreign Minister Winston Peters can come up with is to say that New Zealand is 'gravely concerned by the escalating of tensions between Israel and Iran' and that any 'retaliatory action significantly increases the risk of regional war'. Mr Peters — it's Israel's attack on Iran that has plunged the Middle East into the abyss. You and your government have allowed New Zealand to become a pawn of Empire.

ReplyDeleteAs predicted NZ / Luxon only has weasel words to offer on the expanding illegal Israeli assault on Iran. Shame on us. We should expel the Israeli Ambassador. Sanction Israel. Withdraw NZDF personnel still in Red Sea deployment. Cease all military and intelligence cooperation with US. To do otherwise is a stain on Aotearoa/ NZ. But this fawning government will likely do nothing except mumble slime about the rules based order our $9 B in new defense spending is supposed to be upholding.
