JORDAN PETERSON was in New Zealand in February for a speaking tour. The alt right favourite and staunch defender of the status quo also recently participated in a debate with the left wing Slavoj Zizek on the topic 'Happiness: Capitalism versus Marxism'.

The debate received a mix reaction with Jacobin magazine commenting that "Jordan Peterson spouted nonsense about Marxism. And Slavoj Žižek reminded us of how deep into liberal pessimism he's fallen."

Peterson is well known for encouraging fear of so-called 'Cultural Marxism' and after the unsatisfactory debate with Zizek, Abby Martin of The Empire Files talked with Marxist economist Professor Richard Wolff about Peterson's theories.
