Meghan Murphy: Now speaking at Parliament.
Feminism 2020 will now take place at Parliament....

“. . . without freedom of the press, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, without the free battle of opinions, life in every public institution withers away, becomes a caricature of itself, and bureaucracy rises as the only deciding factor.” – Rosa Luxemburg

THANKS TO THE intervention of ACT MP David Seymour, Feminism 2020 will now take place in the Banquet Hall at Parliament Buildings. The event has been sold out.

Seymour told the media : 'After Massey University prevented Feminism 2020 from taking place on its Wellington campus, I agreed to host the event at Parliament. Speak Up For Women has a right to conduct what is a legitimate debate without being subject to intimidation.'

Speak Up for Women have thanked Seymour for his 'principled stand' and for providing them with a much-need Wellington venue. It is disappointing though that its the libertarian right that are scooping the kudos for upholding the principle of free speech.

In stark contrast, the liberal woke left has done everything in its power to sabotage Feminism 2020. Unfortunately the left in general has been smeared as both elitist and authoritarian. Some of us though subscribe to Rosa Luxemburg's  liberating definition of free speech:

'Freedom is always the freedom of dissenters. The essence of political freedom depends not on the fanatics of ‘justice’, but rather on all the invigorating, beneficial, and detergent effects of dissenters.'

The woman who has copped a lot of the flak, even before she has even arrived in the country from Canada, is Meghan Murphy. She's scheduled for an interview on Sean Plunket's Magic Talk radio show (12-3pm) on Friday and will appear on TV3's Newshub Nation on Saturday.
